IMPORTANCE OF MILK TEETHEarly loss, decayed, or retained milk teeth can directly affect the development and position of the permanent teeth. Thus milk teeth are very important for healthy eruption of Permanent teeth. Milk teeth being temporary are often neglected by parents but they actually play a vital role in laying down the foundation for permanent teeth.
EARLY WARNING SIGN OF DECAY- Swelling
- White spots along the gum line.
- Tiny holes in enamel

Teeth have small grooves and line on chewing surface. These are called pits & fissure. The sealants are applied to these pits & fissure which acts as a barrier, protecting the enamel from bacterial plaque. Application is quick, easy & Painless Sealants are painted on & bonded in place.

Fluoride varnish - fluoride gel, and fluoride foam
(1) Fluoride gel/ fluoride foam -Having fruity flavors are Applied by putting Small amount in a tray and placed in the patients mouth for 1-2 minutes .
(2) Fluoride Varnish on teeth -Applied by painting a small amount of quick drying fluoride directly on each tooth.
ORAL HEALTH FACTSDental cavities are the most common chronic childhood disease.
Cavities are contagious and can be passed on from mother's cavity causing bacteria.
Acvities are caused by frequent & prolonged exposure to sugar & bacteria.
Untreated cavities may cause problems with growth,learning, speech & socialization.
Cavities can result in costly emergency room visits.
- Brush your child's teeth with soft toothbrush and tooth paste with fluoride thrice a day, after very meal & before bed.
- Under age 2 Year use small smear & for ages 2-5 Year use pea size toothpaste
- Brush front & back of your child's teeth.
- Make the child spit out the tooth paste after brushing .
- Make your child eat healthy foods like whole green products, dairy products, fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, chicken, eggs, beans & nuts.
- Avoid giving excess of sweets like candy, cookies or cake & sugar drinks like juice & soda.
- Avoid bottle feeding at night.
- Give water to your child several times a day.
- Checks your baby gums & tooth once in a month. Looks for white/black spots. If you see white/black spots take to your baby to a dentist away.
